What is Family Mediation Week – CHELMSFORD FAMILY MEDIATION?

Every year, the Family Mediation Council celebrate ‘Family Mediation Week’. The goal of Family Mediation Week is to raise awareness of Family Mediation and its benefits. It aims to encourage separating couples to consider family mediation as a way for them to take control, make important decisions together and reach an agreement that creates a positive future for their family. Through mediation, the stress, delay and financial cost of the court process is eradicated. Instead, a more informal, supportive and flexible environment is adopted to help you to seamlessly get through this difficult period.

When was Family Mediation Week?

Family mediation week takes place annually and is always in January. It took place from the 22nd to 26th January 2024.

What is family mediation?

Family mediation is a process in which an experienced, third-party and impartial mediator is appointed, to help you work out arrangements for children and finances after a separation.

The mediator will aid you with discussing any problems, negotiations and help you and your spouse come to a mutually agreeable solution. It is a flexible process and specifically tailored for your situation.

The process of mediation is quicker, cheaper and less stressful than going to court.

The mediator will explain the next steps that must happen to make the agreement legally binding.
